Hello Tweets,

I helped out on both the Wenatchee and Twisp CBC's, starting with the Twisp
CBC on the 27th, where I birded with Kent Woodruff and another participant
in the eastern edge of the CBC circle near the east section of the Methow
Wildlife Area above Beaver Creek along Highway 20. Highlights included 15
COMMON REDPOLLS, 10 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS, 5 Pygmy Nuthatches, and 1 calling N.
Pygmy Owl. I birded on my way south after 1pm, where I encountered 43
GRAY-CROWNED ROSY FINCHES north of Carlton along S.R.153, then ended the
day at Lake Chelan, where I observed 1 Red-breasted Merganser, 1 Red-necked
Grebe, and 2 Merlins near Manson. I birded the next day on the Wenatchee
CBC, where I scouted along Number 2 Canyon and Confluence S.P. areas. Good
finds up # 2 Canyon included 4 species of owls including 1 calling BARRED
OWL, 1 Hermit Thrush, 3 Townsend's Solitaires, and a Golden Eagle. I birded
Confluence S.P. after 10am, where another Hermit Thrush was present, along
with 1 PRAIRIE FALCON and 2 Merlins.

Good Birding,

Patrick Sullivan
