Tweets,
Here are the results of the restarted Port Gamble CBC. We had a total of
115 species. Our individuals were 14,573. We do not have extensive
freshwater as other counts do. Songbird numbers were down from the likely
probably due to the overcastness of the day and the fact that most teams
were unclear on their areas, though they ALL DID A GREAT JOB. Alot of
these areas were birded by habitat, not known birding spots. We had a
couple of rarities as a Short-tailed Shearwater, Cassin's Auklet and a
White-throated Sparrow were seen at Point no Point during Count Week. The
top five species might be a little suprising to people not familar with
this area are:
1.American Crow-1814
2.American Wigeon-1301
3.European Starling-1105
4.Western Grebe-980
5.Surf Scoter-649

With a few more participants we could subdivide the aras more and get
higher songbiord numbers. I wish to thank the participants, many of which
are on tweeters. Great Work! If anybody else would like to join the effort
for next year it will likely be on the first weekend of the period, unless
forces outside my control change.
