I just spotted a female House Finch in the Hazelnut near my tube feeder with
a very swollen, very nasty looking left eye. The area around the eye was
very dark colored. I couldn't tell if that was because the feathers were
damp from oozing fluid, or if the feathers had fallen out.

This is the first case of this I have noted in my yard. I plan to do all I
can to prevent it from spreading further.
