Tweeterites might be interested in knowing that Steve Pink, an avid English
birder and here with British Airways supervising delivery of Boeing jets,
had a most remarkable weekend list 1-2 February.
On Saturday, he and Jim Flynn and I went to Cheney near Spokane. There, both
Steve and Jim had great studies of the Northern Hawk Owl, a life bird for
both, Pine Grosbeak and Townsend's Solitaire. Later, near the Grand Coulee,
we saw: Prairie Falcon, Snow Bunting, and Gray-crowned Rosy Finch.
On Sunday, he was one of the lucky few who saw the multitudes (record
numbers for Washington, anyways) of Laysan Albatross, Mottled Petrel and
Parakeet Auklet off Westport, along with lots of other more common, and
interesting seabirds.
I'm envious! His yearlist is off to a wonderful start!
