Due to technical problems I just got back on tweeters (having to use AOL!)
Anyway I had a wonderful sunny day of bird watching +

(By the way - I was able to see the Norther Hawk Owl on Monday 2/3 at EWU!!
It was still there and seemed to be right at home admidst all the student
bustle.)

On my way to Davenport to Reardon on old Hwy 2
gyrfalcon 1
turkeys 14
red-tailed hawks 3
rough-legged hawks 16
red-winged blackbirds
horned larks 30
American goldfinches 12

South of Davenport on Boyk Rd off Spinning Rd
snowy owls 2 (both looked like juv)
snow buntings ~450 (This year I had only seen 12 before!)
northern shrike
great-horned owl (in barn on Boyk rd)
kestrel

Back in Spokane along Latah Creek by Hangman Valley Golfcourse
merlin 1 (female)
common mergansers 5
common goldeneye

On another subject - pine siskins. Compared to last year there have been very
few siskins yet this year. I only had them at my house just before the ice
storm in November!
