I'm trying to introduce a city-boy to birding. This friend's view on
nature is "Sure, I like nature - I like looking at it as I drive past it".

Anyway, he's agreed to go birding with me if I can keep the laces on his
shoes from getting muddy. I thought I'd take him around Lincoln Park,
Alki, Edmonds Waterfront... any other suggestions from folks? If he's
feeling adventerous I thought I'd take him to Spencer Island - any word on
the condition of the trails up there these days? Muddy? Pretty solid?
