Regarding the recent crow stories, I sent the article from Rumania to Wendy
Williams at Central Washington State University. She's studying crows. This
is what she had to say in reply.

Dear Maia,

Thanks for the crow article. Too bad they don't realize that the birds would
probably perch on "surrogate" antennae just as readily. If they simply put
up a few poles on neighboring roofs, the number of crows on the real
broadcast equipment at any given time would probably decrease. Then they
could coexist peacefully. (I fear that if their method doesn't work, there is
a good risk that some more aggressive method will be adopted.)
