For those still planning to make the trip to Idaho, here's another report:

I took the easy way on Thursday (2/6): flight into Boise, rental car to Twin
Falls; and then on Friday north about 80 miles to the fun:

The Siberian Accentor was very cooperative at the feeder 5 miles north of
Hailey. Really, a beautiful bird. Folks from Missouri and Florida joined me
in the viewing. Then five miles northeast to Triumph to see both Black and
Gray-crowned Rosy Finches. Then back southeast about 25 miles, just
southeast of Gannett to view the Gyrfalcon on Pumkin Center Road
(Roughlegged and Redtailed Hawks also on this dirt road, along with some
GBHs and 2 Kingfishers at the unfrozen ponds.)

Then east past Carey on Hiway 20 almost to Craters of the Moon to see
several Snow Buntings foraging on the roadside.

By the way, the Nature Conservancy manages Silver Creek Preserve off Hiway
20 just southeast of Gannett. A couple of Golden Eagles and a pair of
Trumpeter Swans were there, with many other waterfowl. Just north of the
Preserve is a state fish hatchery: I found a very bold American Dipper
patrolling the fish tanks.

Politically Idaho isn't quite my cup of tea; but with a sunny day, clear dry
roads, snowy fields and great birds it seemed a little bit of paradise last
week.
