I've thanked Jim via E-mail for the update on the Snowy Owl
locations, but I wanted to thank him publicly as well.

I'm sure Jim meant no harm in reporting what seemed to be
an innocous account of a (rather bizzare) owl capture technique
as described by a third-party.

I don't know if that third-party reads Tweeters, but the
following comments are directed at him.

Most of us spend a considerable amount of time in the field
and it's likely that we will at some time witness a research
project in progess. If you witness such work, and it involves
the capture of animals, please refrain from discussing the
techniques used to capture the animal. There are, as I mentioned
to Jim in my E-mail to him, too many people who'd love to have
a stuffed Snowy Owl in their living room!

For what it's worth the description of the Snowy Capture
technique is not accurate. Certainly the most important piece
of equipment was not mentioned - the salt-shaker! ;-)

Let me finish by again thanking Jim for taking the time and
trouble to bring us up to date on the new Snowy location!
