We saw the Siberian Accentor on Saturday (Feb. 8th) around 10:30 am. The
bird left shortly after we saw it and hadn't been seen again when we left
at around 1:30. The weather was clear but cold though the bright sun
helped alot. The roads in the area are clear and dry. For anyone
venturing to see this bird we recommend wearing warm shoes as you will be
standing on snow and ice, possibly for extended periods while waiting for
the bird to come in. More than one birder has gotten cold feet while
wearing only tennis shoes. Boots are highly recommended along with other
warm clothing. There is a sign-in book if you want to leave your name and
comments. The book and maps of the valley are in a plastic bag hanging
from a tree near the house where the bird is being seen. There are two
parking areas. One at the head of the drive which can accomodate about
three cars. Follow the "parking" signs down the drive to the other,
larger area. That is the one with a donation can for the snowplow person.
