5:36 p.m. 02-10-97. Hello, this is Patrick Sullivan reporting from
Tacoma, Washington. One BOREAL OWL was heard and seen on 2/3 along Torota
Creek and Oroville Rd. (sp?) .09 miles W of the Torota Creek Junction in
Okanagan County. Other owls seen in the area included 2 SAW-WHET OWLS,
and 1 NORTHERN PYGMY OWL at 4:35 a.m. in the morning. Also, in Okanagan
County and Douglas County one YELLOW-BILLED LOON and 1 PACIFIC LOON were
observed in Brewster and Bridgeport.
Yesterday, on 2/9, at Leadbetter Point in Pacific County, 1
LONG-EARED OWL, 1 BARN OWL, 8 SNOWY OWLS, 3 SNOWY PLOVERS, 1 GLAUCOUS
GULL, 11 SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS, 2 SNOW BUNTINGS, and 3 LAPLAND LONGSPURS
were observed.
Today, on 2/10, west of [? - sounds like Lewisport] in Pacific
County on Highway 101, 4 SNOW GEESE were observed. And 1 SCRUB JAY was
observed in South Bend, also in Pacific County. At Ocean Shores, just
north of the Ocean Shores marina, 2 PALM WARBLERS were observed, and at
the Ocean Shores golf course, 3 WHITE-FRONTED GEESE were observed. Thank
