There was a good suggestion in Living Bird (I think) by Jack Connor (I think),
about having your group or class, while out birding, attempt to classify every
bird they see by its main feeding technique: i.e. diving, dabbling, soaring,
pecking, etc. This would not only be an identification aid, but would connect
the bird up to other resources in nature.
