The very few recent mentionings of Greater White Fronted Geese leads me
to believe they are not a common site around Puget Sound at this time of
year. So I want to relate a sighting we had on Sunday, February 2. We
saw a small flock of about a dozen at the head of Discovery Bay near the
intersection of Highways 20 (from Port Townsend) and 101 (from Sequim).
See DeLorme's Washington Atlas, page 78, top left corner. The tide was
out and the geese were standing around on the mud beside one of the
freshwater streams that enter the bay by this intersection.
