Compared to the veritable bonanza of variety Wednesday, today there were
20 glaucous-winged types of mixed origin. One bird clearly showed more
traits of a Western than a Glaucous-winged, but its wingtips were grey
not black. Perhaps most pleasing was a singing Song Sparrow--the first
I've heard in a few months.

One note on the "Proper English" thread: I appreciate those who wish it
to die, and much appreciate those further comments. When topics like
this come up, I feel obliged to discuss them as I am being paid by the
State of Washington to teach English; thus, a comment on such matters
within Tweeters can help me to justify my continued participation in the
entirety of the conversation as I can occasionally make professionally
relevant comments. I save such messages just in case--as many who have
been on Tweeters for some time know, occasionally some of our august
number are forced to leave due to new regulations at their workplace.
