Subject: no robin song; bridge falcon

Just following up on the ROBIN observations. Yesterday I noted
one singing near the house; today neither song nor bird. I also noted
a perceptibly cooler morning temperature (about 40 degrees
Fahrenheit today, yesterday more on the order of 45). Further, the
SONG SPARROWS singing by the alders at work yesterday
were just calling this morning.

Again today I saw the immature PEREGRINE FALCON that
frequents the Aurora Bridge light posts in the early morning hours.
I've seen this bird 2 to 3 times a week since January. I hope it stays
around, as the STARLINGS nesting in the light posts on the bridge
are getting scarce! Although this might just be fear, as there are
many ROCK DOVES roosting (and presumably nesting) under the
bridge. I hope to see the falcon catch a bird soon, so I can report
its prey preference (an attempted allusion to a previous discussion).

Good birdwatching!
