Yesterday (2/17) I was searching for eagles in Stevenson, WA (Skamania
Co.) and found what I believe was a fulvous whistling-duck. I had
never seen one before, but my bird book convinced me that I got it
right. Only trouble is, the distribution map shows that they are only
casual this far north. Was I really lucky enough to see a casual
visitor?

In case anyone is interested, it was on a lake on the west end of
town, just north of Highway 14 (between town center and the Columbia
Gorge Interpretive Museum.)
