Speaking of expecting the arrival of hummingbirds,
I found my first Anna's of the year in the University of
Washington Medicinal Herb Garden.
Its presence in the same garden as a ruby-crowned
kinglet was an interesting juxtaposition of a local
breeder and a winter resident.
Also, I've heard singing the last two days: dark-eyed
junco, Bewick's wren, song sparrow, house finch,
American robin, and spotted towhee! Even some
sun-breaks to boot!!
