I've been musing on this for a few weeks now...expecting the Varied
Thrushes to return to higher ground now that the "weird" snow has
departed...hasn't happend yet, and I hear them every morning first thing
here in Victoria - usually before my eyes are open. - many more than
last year (so it seems)

as for siskins...'bout a kilo and a half this year, way down from the
half ton we normally see.
