Tweets,

Today (22 February),Yakama Tribal biologist Ken Bevis climbed into an
introduced black pine east of Moxee and found a Long-eared Owl on three
eggs. The incubating adult flushed when Ken was within one meter of the
tight-sitting adult.

There were at least 13 other adult Long-eared Owls in this area of pines.

We had gone to investigate the pines as landowner Grace Optiker had phoned
me that a large, brown, earless, dark-eyed owl had fallen down her chimney
had flown all through their house leaving very sooty "Paw Prints" all over
their white ceilings and walls. What a mess! Looks like an insurance job to
me! Anyways, we didn't find the offending owl (probably a Barred Owl?).
