The reason being is that those thrushes know that more cold weather is coming!
Our current high pressure ridge will collapse the middle of this coming week.
This will allow a low pressure system now in the northern Bering Sea to
dive into the Gulf of Alaska. Current model trajectories have it off
southern Vancouver Island by Friday or Saturday. This is the perfect position
to draw all that cold Artic air back south again. Winter is not over yet,
folks.
