re the originator of the ornithogolfing---RTP and James Fisher--English
world class birder organized a north american birding trip to see if they
could see all there was to see . i think this had a time frame to it as
well. there was a target number in mind which they failed to reach by a
very narrow margin. much to do about this trip. i think it took place in
the 50's. between wwII and the korean conflict. i was home then in wash
dc,and RTP was about. there is somthing pblished re this by RTP' i would
make this observation that ornithogolfing may be a function of age if you
can't do it any more make fun of it.

a classmate of mine from the '40's was a most successful consultant and a
birder of a type. he spent by his own words a million $'s on a year long
worldwide birding trip to see ALL the then known species. he didn't of
course the birds did not know he was coming. spend your $$$'s birding anyway
you want and plz no more comments re RTP's ornithogolfing. whl
