Probably one of the best places to find Burrowing Owls in Eastern Washintion
(and perhps North America) is in the Tri-Cities area during the first week
of May. There is traditionally a nesting burrow about 1/4 mile from
Cavanaugh's in Kennewick, which happens to be the site of this year's
Washington Ornithological Society's (WOS) annual conference that very same
week (May 1-4).

To see Burrowing Owls and other shrub steppe birds, hear great speakers, and
meet other northwest birders, please join us. Request a Registration
Brochure by return email-please include your mailing address.

(obvious tongue-in-cheek, shameless plug for the WOS conference) Actually
you probably also have good locations closer to Yakima, near Toppenish NWR
