Kristi & Interested Tweeters;
The 4th of July Butterfly Count in the Methow will be on June 21
& 22. Locally we call it the 'Solstice Count' to avoid embaressing
questions (like who's in Grant's tomb?). All are welcome; it's quite
delightful.

A Say's Phoebe turned up at my house near Winthrop yesterday (2/25)
- in bright sunshine but with 2-3 feet of snow still on the ground.
They were rumored to have arrived in the valley on 2/22.
Interestingly, there seems to be a hatch of midges going on to
accomodate them- one can find them (midges) here and there
scattered on the snow. Wet snow falling today- no Phoebes in
sight.
