So here's a question: Are hawks generally territorial? If you see a Sharp

In early February, we saw our first Sharp-shinned Hawk (SSHK)
in our yard for 1997. In years past, this would not have
been much to write about: we formerly saw several in
a year, and more or less took them for granted. However,
in our case, we had not seen a SSHK in our yard since 1993!
This was the first SSHK in over three years. This seems
like a long time to me. Have others noticed similar decreases
in this hawk's numbers? I would be interested in hearing
about this from others on Tweeters.
