I just completed another yearly survey of birds in the Lake Hills Greenbelt
in Bellevue. I walked the area from Larsen L. to Phantom L. 3-4 times each
week from about 0700 to 0930. I had a record of 87 species in 1996. This
compares to 81 in 1990, 79 in 1994 and 76 in 1995. The combined total for
all four years is 105 species.

I recorded six new species for the LHG: Warbling Vireo - Solitary Vireo -
Mew Gull - Osprey - Lincolns Sparrow - Black Swift.

Other species seen in 1996 and not in 1995 were: American Bittern - Western
Grebe - Evening Grosbeak - Ring-billed Gull - Northern Shrike - Tree Swallow
- Hairy Woodpecker - Pileated Woodpecker.

There were three species I saw in 1995 and expected to see in 1996, but did
not: Red-breasted Nuthatch - Rufous Hummingbird - Green-winged Teal.

I could send the detailed list as an attachment, 2-1/2 pages to anyone
interested. I have the data in an Excel 7.0 worksheet, but I can save it in
older Excel formats.
