Summary of bird sightings for 2 Jan. 1997.

This report was made at 9:00 p.m. January 2nd.

call the Audubon office at 523-4483 from 10 to 4 Monday-Saturday.

Highlights of the Seattle Christmas Bird Count were sparse, but
included a SORA in Bellevue, ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD and WHITE-
THROATED SPARROW in White Center, and a WESTERN TANAGER
in Camp Long in West Seattle.

A RED-SHOULDERED HAWK was seen on the 2nd near the Three Crabs
Restaurant in Sequim. The bird was on private property at the end of
Gol-
den Sands Boulevard.

The NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH was seen again at the Skagit Game
Range Headquarters on the 1st. Also present was a WHITE-THROATED
SPARROW. SNOWY OWLS continue to be present throughout the
Skagit and Samish flats.

A SNOWY OWL was seen at the intersection of I-5 and 71st NE on the 28th.
