I have decided that the Cedar Waxwings in west Olympia were feeding on
hawthorn berries. The trees were about 25 ft tall, extremely twiggy,
I think they were thorned, and they were definitely leafless. The
berries were red. Next spring, when the leaves are out, I'll take a
closer look.
