Yesterday, Sun Jan 5, an adult male NORTHERN CARDINAL was visiting a
feeder in Lewiston, ID. The bird was seen by several individuals,
including myself, Carole Vande Voorde and Dan Svingen. The bird is
cooperative. It is at the residence of the Hogden's, Lloyd and Helen. To
get to the bird, take US 12 west into Lewiston, cross the clearwater
river, and at the first traffic light, head up the hill on 21st Street
(aka restaurant row). Follow it up to 16th Avenue and turn right (west).
Follow 16th Avenue to 8th Street, which I think is the second traffic
light. Turn left (south) on 8th Street and follow it as it heads up hill.
Just past Mayfair Court, turn right onto Mayfair Drive, a curvy road going
up. Stay left onto Mayfair Ridge continuing to go uphill. The Hogden's
live at 2975 Mayfair Ridge in a brown house with brick accent, on the left
side of the street. They are posting recent observation times on their
front door. If you go for this bird and see it, please let the hotline
know.

If you're coming from Clarkston, WA, take the US 12 bridge across the
Snake River and turn right onto Snake River Avenue. Follow Snake River
Avenue to the first traffic light which is at 16th Avenue. Turn left
(east) at the light and follow it to the next traffic light which is 8th
Street. Turn right (south) onto 8th and follow the directions as
described above.

Oh, the hotline number is 208-882-6195.

Good birding!
