went looking for White Pelican at about 3:30 p.m., and it was
*nowhere*to be seen(at least not from the highway)!!! Did see, however,
hundreds of Swans, Canada Geess(including some Snow Geese) everywhere,
and literally *thousands* of assorted ducks in the Wildlife Refuge area
at the north end of the River Road(to escape the hunters in the refuge
area further north, I would persume). Also saw a small flock of aboout
10 Horned Grebes at Vancouver Lake(alomg with several of the same, plus
about 6 Canvasbacks yesterday at the section of the refuge further
north---both species being somewhat uncommon in this particular
