This summer, on our way down to San Francisco, we stayed at a lovely place
in Mt.Rainier National Park - it was called "Tatoosh Motel & Bird
Sanctuary" and was billed as a great place for birding, hiking and skiing.
It's in Packwood, WA (don't know if that's on your route) and their number
is 1-888-TATOOSH. Also, the owners have hand-constructed some of the most
beautiful birdhouses I've ever seen, interestingly placed throughout the
property and on gorgeous old, wood stumps. Very lovely place.
