In response to Steve Lanigans comments on his new Kowa:

I too have a Kowa scope. I have both the 20-60mm zoom eye piece and the
30mm wide angle eye piece. Initially I used the zoom a great deal, but
I have found that the 30mm wide angle holds a great advantage. The
added light/brightness of the wide angle acutally improves field
identification. In addition, the larger field of view provides for
better overall scoping of an area. Seldom, if ever - do I feel the need
to switch to the higher power capability of the zoom. I figure if I
need more power I am better off to get closer! At any rate - if you
can afford it, I strongly recommend the 30mm wide angle eye piece that
Kowa offers.
