Richard Rowlett and Mark Egger gave kudos and thanks for my humble =
efforts at providing journal information to the list. =20

You're certainly more than welcome, but please realize that I'm being =
kind of selfish, too... In doing this, I actually take the effort to =
read through the articles (or at least the abstracts) which I had found =
that I was ignoring. It costs too much to belong to these outfits if =
I'm not even going to bother reading the journals, and doing this - at =
the request of another list member - was a way to discipline myself to =
make time to read the articles. I'm glad that some others get something =
out of it.

I'd received a few other comments off the list, and had just gotten the =
following comment, which made me pause to consider if my 'selfish' =
reason for posting the contents was in fact a problem with others on the =
list:

"Perhaps I am speaking only for myself, but I'm not at all sure that =
this list is
the proper place to download a publication that deals largely with =
exotica
and species that most of us will never chase and really have no interest =
in.
I happen to have unlimited time use of AOL, but many don't and join the =
list to use their time allottment efficiently to learn about bird =
sightings. I
think you can see that if everyone did what you are doing, namely "hey',
enjoy my favorite fantasy journal", the list would become ever more =
chaotic. Give it some thought, and I hope you will take this in the =
right spirit, as I
intend it..."

However, unless it is the consensus of the group or on the direction of =
Dan Victor for me to stop, I'd be happy to continue this 'service'. =
Please post to me, rather than to the whole group, if there is a =
problem, and I'll go from there.

Good birding,
