1:32 PM January 10 - Hello, This is Steve Pink of Bellevue 603-0736. Today at
lunchtime I saw the Harris' Sparrow on Smith Island, that's at the north end
of the Everett Sewage Pond, as previously reported. Thanks, good luck and

3:18 PM January 10 - Hi!, This is Shannon Cockle. I'm calling to report a
possible Great Gray Owl at 50th and Sand Point in NE Seattle. The bird was
there only for a short time after I arrived and I glimpsed it yesterday. My
number is 367-3845.

8:57 AM January 11 - Hi!, this is Yvonne Bombardier. Yesterday Margie Palmer
and I went up to the Samish Flats. Near Edison we saw a Prairie Falcon
perched on a telephone pole. Near the West 90 we saw two Peregrines, a
Merlin, 4 Short-eared Owls, numerous Bald Eagles, Rough-legs and Red-tailed
Hawks. There was also a flock of Horned Larks with Snow Buntings mixed in out
on the field from the West 90. Goodby.

9:02 AM January 11 - This is Yvonne Bombardier (206) 348-8845. This is an
addition to the following message. Also on the West 90 we saw 6 Snowy Owls,
at the mouth of the Samish River we saw 3 Snowy Owls and along Sunset Road we
saw one other Snowy Owl.

11:38 AM January 11 - Hi!, This is Hugh Jennings at (206) 746-6351. I was
just over to Larsen Lake in East Bellevue and I saw the first sighting of a
Western Grebe on the lake and also had the second sighting this winter of a
Northern Shrike. Other things seen as well as well as the usual Mallards,
Coots and Cormorants: I also saw a Great Blue Heron, a Red-tailed Hawk, 4
Bufflehead, 3 Hooded Mergansers, one Common Merganser, one Pied-billed Grebe
and 2 Ruddy Ducks. This is all on that small Larsen Lake in East Bellevue.

6:29 PM January 11 - This is Bill Shelmerdine. Today, birding in the
Vancouver Lake area of Clark Co. there was a Gyrfalcon at approximately
milepost 6.7 along the , I guess it's River Road or Highway 503, I think. The
one out to Pst Office Lake past Vancouver Lake. It was in the trees if you
park at the construction for the new county park there at the Frenchman's Bar
Area and as well there were still a couple of Pacific Loons and Red-throated
Loons at Vancouver Lake. Good luck and good birding!

6:37 PM January 11 - Ed Deal, Seatlle, 723-4742. Snowy Owl report: Best Road;
north of McLean, 3; Big Ditch, no Snowy Owls and at the mouth of the
Stillaguamish on the tide flats seen from the very end of Boe Road, 9 Snowy

9:20 AM January 12 - This is Ruth Sullivan from Tacoma 564-7419. Yesterday,
January 11 at Ocean Shores there were 24 Snowy Owls on Damon Point. Also
there were 2 Lapland Longspurs. At Bowerman Basin we had an adult Swamp
Sparrow. Also we had dark morph Red-tailed Hawk at Bowerman Basin. Thank you.
