I watched a Peregine falcon (I believe) in the top of the southernmost
cottonwood tree in the eastern cottonwood grove at Green Lake today
between 3:30 and 4:30. There were about 20-30 crows assembling in the
cottonwood trees to the north for their nightly run back to Foster Island.
They didn't seem to pay much attention at all to the falcon, who merely
kept an eye on any crows that happened to fly nearby. But it was only 40
degrees out, so maybe it wasn't worth harrassing it so late in the day.
This is a first for me, but I watched it with both binocs and a scope. Is
it unusual to see this bird at Green Lake?
