I know they don't like ammonia. It smells - there is a lemon scented kind
that is not so bad, but won't hurt your plants. I use a 2:1 water/ammonia
solution to kill slugs, and it doesn't seem to affect my plants. I would
think that you could use a more dilute solution, and don't use Sudsy ammonia.
