Some rites of Spring that I have recently observed include the passing
of a strand of eel grass between two Western Grebes 2 weekends ago at
Lighthouse Park at Point Roberts, and a male Northern Harrier dropping a
dark roundish object (vole?) while in flight to a female Northern
Harrier, who obliginly went into a brief stoop to grab the offering
before it ever come close to the ground.

Just think, wasn't it only a couple of weeks ago we here on the coast
were in what we perceived to be the middle of winter?
