Just returned from a weekend twitch to south-central Idaho. Observed the
SIBERIAN ACCENTOR in Hailey. Less than 5 miles away was a large flock of
Gray-crowned Rosy Finch (200) and about a dozen BLACK ROSY FINCH. Just
south of Hailey was a gray GYRFALCON, PRAIRIE FALCON and several large
flocks of SNOW BUNTING. On Sunday we headed south to Hagerman and saw a
flock of 10 TRUMPETER SWAN and Idaho's first TUFTED DUCK, hanging out with
2000 Ring-necks. The Tufted was first seen Dec 21 and again on the 24th,
but it has avoided several birders until last Sun. From Hagerman, zoomed
east to Marsing, Idaho (west southwest of Boise), seeing PEREGRINE FALCON
on the Nampa sugar towers. At Marsing, saw a MERLIN and an OLDSQUAW, but
the reported Eurasian Wigeon was a no-show. Also there were GREAT-TAILED
GRACKLE.

If you'd like detailed directions, let me know.
