In reply to various "spring is here?" msgs .....

There was a flock of about 30 Red Crossbills at our house for
several hours on 1/11, many singing during this time.

We have been hearing the 'chirp' sound of River Otters several
nights lately -- I don't know if this is a 'spring' sound or what -- have
not heard it for the past several months.

The first frog song of the year was the night of 1/8 --- also heard
on nights of 1/10 and 1/11 -- it was 26 F night of 1/13, and 24 last
night.
