Tweets,

I'm so excited. I finally got to see a Marbled Godwit here at Seacliff
Beach (near Santa Cruz, California)! I spotted it from high above on a
cliff, ran the dog back to the car, dashed down the hill to the beach for a
closer look. I'm sure the ranger thought I was crazy as she was trying to
tell me dogs weren't allowed on the beach and all I could say was "It's a
lifebird! It's a Godwit! Over there!" There's no exciting some people!

At any rate, this sighting has special meaning to me as I have a good friend
in the Netherlands who studies Godwits (we met on BirdChat) and I have never
seen one of these birds in person. She's always telling me how lovely they
are. And she's right.

Just had to share the experience.
