Thanks to those of you who sent information on email virus hoaxes,
and my apologies for passing on disinformation. I actually wondered about
the veracity of the warning, but since it came with a name, address, two
phone numbers (one with no area code) and a website, I figured it was
probably legitimate. Now that I reread it more carefully, it seems likely
that all these contacts except the phone with no area code are probably
just those of an intermediate messenger. I have emailed the address in
the warning as well as the person who sent it to me, and referred them to
http://www.hr.doe.gov/goodtime.html.
