My husband and I thought we would treat our little feathered friends to a new
feeder this Christmas. Our old one was wooden and allowed a fair amount of
seed to drop down into the feeding area. The trouble with it was that half
the seed ended up on the ground and when it rained, the seed got too wet. It
was also difficult to clean.
We stopped at the Sea Audubon Nature store and purchased what we thought was
really neat.....a large, three tube feeding station that holds both niger and
sunflower seed. Visitor attendance is markedly down. In fact, there's a
tree, not too far from the feeder where they perch (mostly house finches).
They sit in the tree and just look at the feeder, and when they do come,
they don't stay very long.
This is a really cool feeder........what's wrong with it from those little
bird eyes' point of view?
