Well, I'm wouldn't be so sure a wild bird couldn't go unnoticed
for a long time, especially one that scurries quietly around
on the ground. In the case of game birds, however, there is
likely to be continuous releases of just about anything anywhere.
Hard to know how often pairs set up housekeeping and manage
to raise a few young.
