On 1/24, I spotted what looked like a Ross' Goose on the Clay Street wetland in
Auburn. On discussing the possibility and unlikeliness of it actually being
here, with Thais Bock that evening, I was determined to go back and confirm it
one way or another. Went back today (1/25), and found it again. Roger Orness
was also there observing, and with the help of his spotting scope, we did
confirm that it was indeed a Ross' Goose. Pure white, short neck, black wing
tips, and dwarfed by the Canada Geese that it's hanging out with.
