Hi Tweets,

The Ross' Goose is still at the Clay Street marsh in
Auburn. Scott Downes and I saw it today though not until dusk.
We first checked the marsh around 2 or 3 without luck; others
there hadn't seen it either at that time. We drove around check-
ing fields where Canada Geese might hang out but found nothing.
Scott wanted to give it one more try at dusk in case birds were
coming to the marsh for the evening and I'm glad he did. It didn't
show up until 5:10 PM. There was enough light for about ten min-
utes to check it out. Whether it will be at the marsh in the
morning and whether mid-day will continue to be bad I'm not sure.

By the way a Snow Goose has been hanging around with Canadas
near the Kent Boeing (aerospace center), the Kent ponds and the
Smith Dairy on West valley hwy. It's been around since at least
November. If you see that bird don't fear the Ross' was just a
mis-ID'd Snow Goose - both are present in the valley. There are
also 1-2 white domestic geese kicking around with Canadas as
well just to keep us on our toes!
