Finally saw the elusive red-shouldered hawk (a lifer for me) that's been
hanging around Ridgefield NWR. Was feeding on something about 100 feet
from shore, so I got a great look. Also saw 2 canvasbacks in same area,
and called a Virginia rail later in day at Steigerwald NWR. Didn't get
any response with my Virginia rail tape, but a rail immediately
responded to the Sora call. Steve Lanigan
