Rob, you don't mention whether the bird was in the upper, mid- or understory.

If in the understorey, why not a Wilson's Warbler (WIWA)? There's a couple
of nesting WIWA pairs in Pacific Spirit Park on Point Grey here in Vancouver
BC, in mixed bigleaf maple, douglas-fir, western redcedar and red alder, and
their songs are very similar to your rendition.

In northbound migration, WIWA males going through here typically give a very
rapid, dry 'chi-chi-chi-chi-cht-cht-cht-cht' song, but these territorial
males songs' are different, the introductory three notes almost the quality
of a Yellow Warbler's intro, a clear 'twee-twee-twee-cht-cht-cht-cht' (or,
if said fast enough, 'chewychewychewy-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch'). Might this fit
your bird?
