Hullo tweets!

Assuming that most of you appreciate receiving the transcriptions of the
Washington BirdBox messages as much as I do, it's time to put out the call,
as we do periodically, for volunteers to take a turn at the transcription
routine. Lisa Smith and Bob Norton have been carrying the ball almost
unassisted for several weeks now. Chris Hill and I have been too busy with
other responsibilities (it being field-work season and all), though both of
us do plan to step back into the rotation this fall.

In the meantime, could some of you help out? All that's involved is
calling the BirdBox regularly (daily is best) and copying out the messages,
verbatim, stopping and going back to the beginning until you've got each
message right. Then keying them into your e-mail application and posting
the completed transcript to tweeters every two or three days.

The reward is gratitude from tweeterland, and also from those who keep the
"official" records of bird life in our state that end up in Russell Rogers'
"Washington Field Notes" in WOSNews, and Bill Tweit's quarterly report in
National Audubon Society Field Notes.

Please reply to me personally rather than to the whole group. Many thanks.

Hal
