Hi Tweets,

Lotsa sandpipers using all four settling ponds at this evening's high tide.

Western Sandpiper ~8,000 75% Def Alt, 25% Ptl Alt
Semipalmated Sanpiper 24 all Def Alt
Least Sandpiper 16 " " "

One of the SemiSandpipers was banded, red over yellow on L tarsus, single
metal on right metatarsus.

Also, 3 fledged Cooper's Hawks yipping up a storm in the ravine between W
33rd Ave & W 36th Ave one block W of Arbutus in Vcr BC. One had a robin or
starling and was mantling like crazy whenever the other two nosed hopefully
closer.

Highlight was a Barn Owl flying close alongside me in light dusk along
Ferguson Road on Sea Island for almost 300 meters, just beautiful, the warm
gold plumage against the golden timothy (I think) and the soft purple
feathergrass.
