Sightings for Friday, July 4th

Two immature BARRED OWLS were observed in Crescent Park in south Surrey.

A group of 10 COMMON NIGHTHAWKS were seen over Ambleside Park in West
Vancouver and another group of 6 were over 72nd and 112th in Delta.

Thursday, July 3rd

A male & female LAZULI BUNTING were seen at Colony Farm. The 2 WESTERN
KINGBIRDS were at there usual location of the first tower.

Wednesday, July 2nd

Three LAZULI BUNTINGS, 2 males and a female, were reported from the
Premier St. landfill site in North Vancouver. The male LAZULI/INDIGO
BUNTING
hybrid was also at this location.

At Maplewood were 4 PURPLE MARTINS, 2 males & 2 females.

Tuesday, July 1st

A NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD was present in the yard of 4635 Bellevue Dr.
in the west Pt. Gray area of Vancouver. The bird has not been reported
since this sighting.

Sighted from the Tsawwassen Jetty were a WHIMBREL, BLACK OYSTERCATCHER
and numerous CASPIAN TERN.

On Boundary Bay between 96th and 88th were numerous WESTERN and LEAST
SANDPIPERS, 2 GREATER YELLOWLEGS and a PEREGRINE.

Out in the Pitt Meadows area was a singing GRAY CATBIRD at the beginning of
the
Nature Dike Trail at Grant Narrow's R.P. Approx. 2.2 km south of this
location were
another 2 GRAY CATBIRDS, 2 BULLOCK'S ORIOLES, 2 EASTERN KINGBIRDS and
a VIRGINIA RAIL. Also in Pitt Meadows was a GREEN HERON along Neaves Rd.
north of Dewdney Trunk.

Two female PURPLE MARTINS were again observed at Maplewood Flats.

Also seen in North Vancouver was a LAZULI BUNTING at Inter River Park.

Three HUTTON'S VIREO were seen east of the Nature Hut at Burnaby Lake R.P.

Monday, June 30th

Sighted on Sea Island east of the tank farm were a WESTERN KINGBIRD and a
BARN OWL.

A VIRGINIA RAIL was reported north west of the gravel parking area at
Boundary Bay R.P.


Sunday, June 29th

Between 96th and 88th on the Boundary Bay dike were 2 DUNLIN and a
PEREGRINE FALCON.

Out of town on Bowen Island were 4 YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRDS. Also in
another out of town report at Gibsons was an EASTERN KINGBIRD.
