Hi Tweeters -

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all the TWEETERs who provided
information to help make my trip to Ft. Lewis a success.

A special thank you goes to Tom Schooley, Tweeters Ambassador
Extraordinaire. Tom took a full day (over 12 hours!) of his time to
guide me around looking for alcids, and we did find quite a few. The day
was very worthwhile and lots of fun.

I won't bore you with all the details of my birding experiences in
Washington, but I will tell you about the new life birds I added to my
list. Here they are, in no particular order:

rufous hummingbird
northwestern crow
common murre
rhinoceros auklet
marbled murrelet
olive-sided flycatcher
chestnut-backed chickadee
glaucous-winged gull
black oystercatcher
pigeon guillemot
pelagic cormorant
Franklin's gull (an unexpected pleasure!)

I'm well on my way to my goal of trying to break 500 by year's end. Just
40 more birds to go!

Thanks again...and I will be back!
